Dr. Wine is a French bistro and wine bar with two locations in Metro Manila: Poblacion, Makati, and Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. It began in Shanghai with a simple belief: good food and wine should be easy to enjoy and best shared.

When it arrived in Manila in 2017, that philosophy took shape through warm, relaxed spaces and a menu rooted in classic French bistro fare. The cooking is generous and unfussy, designed to bring people together around the table.

Each location carries its own character: from the intimate, dimly lit charm of Poblacion to the open, easygoing feel of BGC. With a wine list of over 400 bottles, including many from small producers, Dr. Wine offers depth without pretension. It’s a place for casual dinners, unhurried conversations, and nights that tend to stretch just a little longer than planned.

Romain Escande serves as Executive Chef at Dr. Wine Poblacion. A native of Toulouse, France, he trained at the Lycée Hôtelier de Toulouse and has since built a diverse career across respected kitchens in both France and the Philippines.

His culinary approach is rooted in traditional French cuisine, guided by balance, restraint, and precise execution. At Dr. Wine Poblacion, Romain leads a menu that reflects classic technique paired with a commitment to thoughtful, generous dining.
